The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Prosecutor.
Assistant Prosecutors represent the State in all aspects of criminal prosecutions and quasi-criminal proceedings. Other duties include providing legal advice to law enforcement, case screening, and community engagement. Interested candidates should have a demonstrated interest in criminal law and public service. Assistant Prosecutors in Warren County will obtain significant litigation experience under the direction and mentorship of more senior prosecutors. Specific assignments vary depending on experience and the needs of the office. Prior experience as a judicial law clerk preferred.
Detectives are sworn-law enforcement officers responsible for investigating criminal offenses throughout Warren County. Detectives must be ready to meet the challenges associated with handling the rigors of complex criminal investigations. Our detectives work closely with all local municipalities, state agencies, and federal authorities during investigations. Detectives also work with Assistant Prosecutors who are tasked with prosecuting cases in Warren County Superior Court.

The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office offers college and law school students the opportunity to work in the capacity of an unpaid intern, voluntarily or for school credit. Internships are available throughout the year and the internship program is designed to maximize the students’ involvement with the criminal justice system in the County. Many of our legal interns are offered judicial internships and subsequent employment as Assistant Prosecutors here in Warren County or in other Counties. The Investigative Internship Program is designed for college students interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement or criminal justice. Investigative Interns are assigned to a unit within the office and will have an opportunity to observe and participate in day-to-day operations by learning from the legal, investigative, and support staff. An intern’s duties may involve assisting with case files and performing administrative tasks. When possible, interns are invited to broaden their experience by attending interactive field trips relative to their program.
